Like the rest of Galveston we have survived it all including hurricanes like hurricane Ike which devestated our building forcing us to close for a short time. Like many of you we were born on the Island and plan to stay here forever. Why would you go anywhere else?
Hurricane Ike overwhelmed Galveston Island in the early morning of September 13, 2008, as a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 miles per hour. The waves and storm surge of about 14 feet went around the Galveston Seawall, flooding the city through the storm sewers, and the unprotected bay side of the island.
Galveston is the destination of choice for people who are celebrating, from Mardi Gras to the Bike rally we have seen it all. Through it all the Cajun Greek has been there.
